Customer orders are created three different ways - web sales, phone sales, and store pickup sales.
Web Sales - Orders entered by the customer using the web site.
Phone Sales - Orders taken over the phone for shipment to the customer. It is entered using the "Transactions" screen.
Store Pickup Sales - Orders that are to be picked up by customers - no shipment involved. It also is entered using the "Transactions" screen.
The sales transaction type is different from these transactions because the items are at the counter as the sale is being made and stock is immediately updated. Customer Order transactions, on the other hand, must be filled, and, in the case of Web Sales and Phone sales, shipped to the customer.
