How to move stock between different catalog items

A bicycle store has two catalog items for selling tire tubes. One catalog item is for selling individual tubes, the other is for selling tubes by case. Each case has 24 tubes. The number of tubes on the floor is 3 and there are 40 cases of tubes in the back room. I need to move 24 tubes from a case in the back room to the floor. How is this done?

Do not use this method to move stock from one place to another. Use the screen under the Move tab.

ITEM4 is the catalog item for individual tubes. ITEM5 is the catalog item for a case of 24 tubes. We will make adjusting entries to move the items.
1. Select ITEM5.
2. Change the quantity value from 40.00 to 39.00. The items from this case are then to be added to ITEM4.
3. Select ITEM4.
4. Change the quantity value from 3.00 to 27.00.

View/Edit Tab Adjustments

This screen shows the result of moving the items. The content of the case of 24 tubes (ITEM5) was added to ITEM4.

History Tab Details

This screen shows and adjustment for ITEM4 of 24.00 and total quantity for this item of 27.00.

This screen shows and adjustment for ITEM5 of -1.00 and total quantity for this item of 39.00.
